Flight Bookings within India

Questions before you book

An e–ticket (electronic ticket) is a paperless electronic document with a unique confirmation number that neatly replaces the hassles of a paper ticket. When you purchase an e–ticket, we email it to you after the booking is complete. Simply print it out and bring it with you – along with a valid photo ID – to the airline counter when checking in for your flight.

A maximum of 9 seats can be booked at one time. If you need to book for more than 9 travelers you will have to recomplete the booking process for the additional travelers.

Yes, you can book travel for infants under two years of age on Mulberry Tours. Make sure they have valid proof–of–age documents when they’re checking in, and remember that infants must be accompanied by an adult at least 18 years old. You can book no more than one infant per adult. To avail of infant fares, the infant must be under 24 months of age throughout the entire itinerary that you’re booking. This includes both outbound and return journeys. If the infant is 24 months or above on the return journey, you need to make a separate booking using a child fare.

Questions while you book

Clear your browser cache and try the search again. If you still don’t get any flight results, it may either be because we can’t find flights for that route or because there’s no availability of flights for your dates.

Please contact us to update your frequent flier number in your booking.

Questions after you’ve booked

We’ll send you an email to confirm your flight booking.

No, you don’t. If you really want to, though, you can by writing to us at email or by contacting the airline directly.

We don’t do pre–seating. Some airlines will confirm your seat assignments – their rules for doing so vary – so call your airline directly to check whether you get to choose your seat.

We’ll send your e–ticket details to the email address you gave us when you made your reservation.

You need to show your e–ticket confirmation email and your e–ticket number at the check–in counter. The airline representative will issue your boarding pass at that time.

Yes, you do. Some airports don’t allow you inside without a printout of your e–ticket, so be sure to carry one with you. If you’ve forgotten your e–ticket printout but can get to a computer to print yourself a copy.

It depends on the airport you’re flying from.

Yes. The airline and airport authorities may or may not check your ID proof but we strongly recommend that you carry a government–issued photo–id proof with you whenever you fly.

You can find the baggage limit under the ‘Baggage Allowance’ section of the ticket.

You can call us to check if the airline you’ve booked with entertains change–of–name requests. Some of them do, and we can pass on your request. However, if the airline doesn’t allow it, you’ll have to cancel and re–book the ticket.

Cancellations & Refunds

It depends. The cancellation charges depend on the airline, sector, class of booking, and time of cancellation. To know what’s applicable in your case, check the fare rules mentioned on the booking page when you’re making your reservation. Apart from the cancellation charges levied by the airline, Mulberry Tours charges a cancellation fee of Rs 300 per passenger per sector for domestic flights within India.

With Mulberry Tours, you can cancel your flight no later than 3 hours before the time of departure. If it’s later than 3 hours, you need to contact the airline directly for cancellation.

We will credit the money back to the same account you used while making the booking. For example, if you used your credit card, we will make an appropriate charge reversal. If you used your debit card, we will credit the money back to the debit card.

We usually process the refund within 4 working days of cancellation. However, it may take slightly longer to reflect in your account statement depending upon your bank. We’ve noticed that it takes about 14 working days for most refunds to hit their respective accounts.

We strongly recommend that you let us know immediately after cancelling directly with the airline. Depending on your bank, the refund generally takes 4 to 15 days (from the day we find out about the cancellation) to get processed. In cases such as no–show or flight cancellation, the refund process can take more than three weeks too.

Amendments (Rescheduling)

An amendment is a fancy word for a change in your travel plan. You can change the date or time (or both) of your travel; you cannot, however, change the sector(s) on which you’re already booked. For example, if you’re booked on a flight from New Delhi to Mumbai, you can’t change your destination to Bangalore.

Please note that airline changes are not allowed in case of amendments. However, you can cancel your existing reservation and re-book a different airline of your choice online.

All amendments come at a fee that varies from airline to airline. In addition to this fee, Mulberry Tours charges an amendment handling fee of Rs 300 per passenger per sector. We’ll collect these charges from you when we make the changes to your travel plans. We’ll also collect the difference in fare, if any, applicable when the amendment is made.

We’ll email your amended tickets after making the change to the email address you used for the original booking.

Yes, but do not cancel from your Mulberry Tours Account, call us and cancel the same. If you have amended your journey with us or the airline then please cancel your trip 3 hrs before your amended travel date and time.

Flight Bookings - International

Booking with us

Please note its passengers responsibility to correctly enter the names exactly as per passport both given names, surnames or any middle names. For international flights once ticket is issued name change is not possible. Passport and visa validity should be properly checked before issuing an international ticket.

Simply because booking ‘Outbound’ and ‘Return’ flights separately (one–way flights) works out to be a lot more expensive than a return fare. It's always recommended to look for a roundtrip fare. In case you still have to choose two oneway fare because of timings or dates convenience you may chose so the two fare components will have their own cancellation and change rules and the fare may be more expensive.

Just like for domestic flights, you can book Economy Class and Business Class for International flights too. A number of carriers also have First Class on some routes, which is a higher level than Business Class. Some airlines also have Premium Economy Class now.

A direct flight is a point to point (city to city) flight that is either non-stop or has one or more intermediate stops, but with no change of aircraft. Changing aircrafts and terminals increases the duration of your journey. Direct non-stop flights are generally the shortest in duration followed by direct flights with stops.

An indirect flight is one where stopovers via intermediate cities are involved. Indirect flights involve change of aircraft and often a change of terminal. It is not permitted to break your journey in a transit city.

A stopover is a stop you make at one or more cities during your trip, which involves a change of aircraft. Generally, the duration of a stopover is longer than 24 hours. For instance, you might want to stopover for a few days in Dubai, on your way to New York.

A transit airport is one where you land for a break in your journey. You may or may not change aircrafts at the transit airport but you will definitely not be able to leave the airport when you’re in transit. Your itinerary will give you the details about the duration of transit time.

In most cases, you will need to change terminals in order to board your connecting flight. Often the terminals are at quite some distance from each other and you’ll need to set aside some extra time to walk from one to another.

Do make it a point to enquire about your terminal as soon as you arrive, since gate numbers and terminals can change at the last moment.

If you’re concerned that you may not have enough time between your flights, please . They’ll tell you the duration of your transit and how long it will take you to go from one terminal to another. Don’t sweat, they’ll make sure that you feel comfortable with your connection.

Yes, you can book tickets for infants and Children on Mulberry Tours. However, we do not yet book tickets for unaccompanied minors. When booking international flights for infants, please keep these points in mind:

  • Every passenger requires a valid passport.
  • Infants and children must be accompanied by an adult at least 18 years old.
  • You can book no more than one infant (under 2 years) per adult. But one adult can fly with a child and an infant.
  • The infant must be under 24 months of age while travelling the outbound sector to qualify for an infant fare.

As a child under 2 years of age does not legally require a seat to fly, it’s really up to you to decide whether the infant should have a seat or no. Which is the reason why the cost of a ticket for an infant is different from the cost of a ticket for a child who is more than 2 years old (children over the age of 2, however, must have their own seat). To book a seat for an infant, please select child at the time of search and the cost will be provided.

You can book up to 9 travellers per booking.

We’ll send your e–ticket details to the email address you gave us when you made your reservation.

Cabin and checked-in baggage limit varies from airline to airline. Some airlines have baggage weight restrictions and others have a specific number of pieces permitted. Please note that restrictions on baggage apply to both checked–in bags as well as cabin baggage. Often, you’ll be asked to pay for any checked–in luggage that exceeds the weight permitted. Cabin luggage that exceeds the weight limit is not permitted and will have to be checked in.

Keep these point in mind:

  • Remember to find out checked–in and hand baggage allowances.
  • Don’t pack valuables in your checked–in baggage.
  • Carry medication, money and important documents in your hand baggage.
  • Most airport security regulations permit limited quantities of liquids, gels or pastes that must be carried in containers not exceeding 100ml. This includes medicines, shampoo, creams, hair gel, hair spray, suntan lotions, toothpaste, liquid or aerosol deodorants, perfumes, cosmetics, water and other drinks, soups and syrups etc.
  • The containers must be carried in a separate clear plastic, zip–top or re–sealable bag.
  • Some countries do not permit any liquids in your hand luggage.

Also, you can carry goods worth Rs. 25,000 free per adult passenger and Rs 6000 per child below 10 years of age. If you’re travelling for less than 3 days, then this allowance drops to about Rs 12,000 per adult and Rs 3000 per child below 10 years of age. Importing a laptop computer over and above the free allowance by anyone over the age of 18 is also permitted.

These rules are subject to change and we would recommend that you use this as an indication only.

Hotel Bookings

Questions before you book

Most hotels allow additional guests to stay in a room for an extra charge as long as the room doesn’t exceed the maximum number of guests allowed per room. If you book a room that cannot accommodate your group, the hotel may cancel your reservation or require that you book additional rooms. If you have doubts, check directly with your hotel for their extra–guest charges and the maximum number of people allowed in the room you’ve booked.

When making your booking, select the number of children traveling with you from the ‘Children’ drop–down box. If you select just 1 child, our search will give you the price of a double room with child, not including an extra bed. If you want an extra bed in the room, you need to increase the number of passengers in your search.

Contact us with your request and we’ll do our best to get you what you ask for. However, your request is ultimately subject to availability when you arrive at the hotel.

This varies with the type of rate and hotel you select. Normally, your credit card will be charged immediately for all reservations made through our website or over the phone. This guarantees your reservation as well as the rate.

Questions after you book

We’ll send you an email confirmation for your hotel booking.

No, you don’t. If you really want to, though, contact us to confirm your reservation. You can also contact the hotel directly if you prefer.

If a confirmation page doesn’t display once you complete your booking, check your email for a confirmation. If you don’t get an email confirmation within ten minutes, let us know and we’ll send you your confirmation details.

If you don’t receive an email after making a reservation, it could be that we have the wrong email address on file or your Internet Service Provider blocked the email thinking it was spam or junk mail. Check your spam folder, just in case. In the meantime, contact us so we can send you an email confirmation.

Be sure to include the following information:

  • The name the reservation was booked under
  • The hotel name and location (city)
  • The check–in/check–out dates

The time it takes for a hotel to get your booking information varies by specific hotel and arrival date. In most cases the hotel should receive the reservation information within 12 hours of the time you made your booking (except for nights and weekends when the hotel’s reservation department is closed). Please note that this doesn’t apply to bookings made for the same day.

There are certain reservations that are booked out of an allotment. These rooms are guaranteed and must be paid for when you check out of the hotel. In some cases the hotel won’t have your name on the reservation until approximately 24 hours before you arrive.

Typically, the hotel check–in time is after 2:00 pm (local hotel time). Check with your specific hotel for its exact check–in time.

Since your reservation is guaranteed with a credit card, the hotel is obliged to hold your room until 7 am, the day after your planned arrival date.

If you know you’re going to arrive early at your hotel, contact us. We’ll do our best to accommodate your request, but it’s ultimately subject to room availability when you arrive at the hotel or you can write to the hotel directly too.

Cancellations & Refunds

Short answer – it depends. Long answer – the cancellation charges depend on the hotel, time of stay (‘season’ time, ‘off–season’ time), and time of cancellation. To know what’s applicable in your case, check the hotel’s booking policy mentioned on the booking page while making the reservation (in case you missed it, you can always sign in to your Mulberry Tours Account and check it out on your Trips pages). Apart from the cancellation charges levied by the hotel, Mulberry Tours charges a fee of Rs. 300 for every hotel cancellation.

It depends on your hotel. Please go through the hotel’s booking policy mentioned on the booking page while making the reservation (in case you missed it, you can always sign in to your Mulberry Tours Account and check it out on your Trips pages). However, please keep in mind that irrespective of what the hotel’s booking policy says, you cannot cancel your booking on the day that you’re supposed to check–in.

We will credit the money back to the same account you used while making the booking. For example, if you used your credit card, we will make an appropriate charge reversal. If you used your debit card, we will credit the money back to the debit card.

We usually process the refund within 4 working days from the cancellation request. However, it may take slightly longer to reflect in your account statement as this depends upon your bank. We’ve noticed that it takes about 14 working days for most refunds to hit their respective accounts.
